This guide covers how to access essential services such as connecting to Wifi, accessing email and downloading mobile apps to help you with your studies.

Connecting to College Wifi

When on campus, from your mobile device you will see a wireless network called 'SDC'.  

Android users

From an Android device, if prompted, the settings you need are as follows:

EAP method: PEAP

Phase 2 authentication: MSCHAPV2

CA certificate: (unspecified)

Identity: Enter your 6-digit student number (e.g. 444000)

Anonymous identity: (leave blank)

Password: Your standard College password (default is your date of birth (ddmmyy)

iOS users

Username: Enter your 6-digit student number (e.g. 444000)

Password: Your standard College password (default is your date of birth (ddmmyy)

Accessing College email

It is important you regularly check you email for important College announcements.

From any device go to mail.office365.com.  For username use your 6-digit student number @mymail.sussexdowns.ac.uk.  e.g. 444000@mymail.sussexdowns.ac.uk.  If you want to forward your email to an alternative email, click here.


Around the College in communal areas there are shared printers. All students are provided with £15.00 of printer credits. Printing from any computer will send your document to a queue. Collect your printouts from any shared photocopier/printer by either logging in or swiping your student ID.

Mobile apps


This is your 1-stop shop for your College life.  Check your email, view upcoming assignments, manage library loans or check print credits.  It’s available via this free app.

Google Classroom

This innovative app allows you to view your assignments set through Google Classroom.  Remember to sign-in using your College Google account.  Your username is your student number followed by @chrome.sussexdowns.ac.uk.  Your password is the same as your College.

Moodle (iLearn)

The Moodle app contains links to all your course content on iLearn.  Download learning resources and activities to use offline.
